winter workshop

Esta semana fue el winter workshop de la academia, el tema de este año ha sido el cuerpo y el espacio, lo ha dirigido la coreógrafa Kristina de Chatel. Los 2 primeros días, estuvimos creando nuevos espacios con el cuerpo (suena bien eh….jajajaja) en distintos puntos de de la ciudad. Este video son las 2 coreografías en que participe, quien sepa quien soy en ambas gana estancia gratuita en Ámsterdam, o sea que a aguantarse y a comerse los 10 minutazos de video, jajajajaja. (aviso: el video es un tostón pero en los ensayos nos partíamos...)

El resto de semana me apunté en el grupo de un fotógrafo, Mark Pimlott. A partir de una foto tuvimos que escribir un texto descriptivo (merci xenixe ;-), a partir de este hacer una maqueta, y sacarle una foto, y a partir de la foto de la maqueta del texto de la foto, inventarse una escena con cuerpos, mostrando las posibilidades del espacio gracias al contacto humano.
Después del workshop de Rótterdam, este ha sido relajadísimo y una ida de olla considerable.

A bare, interior space, quiet and inspiring, at once evoking loneliness and offering comfort.

A vast open space with a sense of industry, whose dilapidated walls reveal the intensity of work that has taken place within: small windows permitting no distractions, enclosing occupants. One can read ideas in the atmosphere of the place.

Foreign elements, like furniture, indicate a completely different use from that of the past. Partitions made of black curtains transform the huge space into smaller rooms of human scale. An immaculate concrete floor running throughout suggests that many similar, temporary occupations may have occurred here, and that many more may occur in the future. Their neutral colours suggest that their is no conflict between these new elements and the old.

One person at the end of the corridor comes to us…

It is a long corridor, made longer when a person walks its length.

The huge interior, the long corridor, carry a sense of loneliness.

When the person arrives at the third room…

There are many different rooms, mysterious spaces. One sees many people appearing from the rooms but one never knows what is in the rooms. They all wear formal clothes, as though in an office. Many people appear from all the rooms and go in all directions, (at the end of the corridor, at the beginning of the corridor, to different rooms…)

In a few seconds the scene is empty again…

Now, three people appear from three different rooms and go to different rooms…

When the last person has almost disappeared, many people appear again going in all directions…
